WHY WE DO WHAT WE DO

WHY...

Because:

We believe in disrupting the prevailing narrative.
We understand that everything is inter-related and we give voice to the other inhabitants of our planet because we know that the world is a richer place for their inclusion.
We understand that a functioning healthy environment is ultimately needed for life to thrive. We also understand that DIVERSITY creates resilience and a lack of DIVERSITY results in weakness or vulnerability.
Everything is inter-related and we believe in the sanctity of ALL life forms.

We believe in disrupting the prevailing narrative that Human Development must take precedence over all other considerations

  • Because we know that a healthy functioning environment is ultimately needed for the survival of
much life, including human life on earth

We will give voice to the other inhabitants of our planet which do not have a direct voice at the development table

  • Because we know that the world is a richer place for their inclusion.

  • We know that DIVERSITY creates resilience and lack of DIVERSITY creates weakness or vulnerability.

We know that everything is inter-related. Destroying one organism means that the whole will be disrupted

  • Disruption will have flow-through effects, some may be known in advance but many will be unknown until well after the event, when it is too late.

  • Because of this we believe in the sanctity of ALL life forms

We value the people who have:

  • Evolved beyond the stage of competing with everyone, and

  • Who have evolved beyond accumulating things for the sake of accumulating things.

  • We value people who have empathy for all creation.

We believe in open and frank exchange of ideas:

  • Because we know that promoting singular points of view and censoring debate creates divisions in society that ultimately leaves us all “more closed down and less wise”.

  • Only through the free exchange of ideas can we hope to make progress

We will use peaceful means at all times:

  • We will act with empathy and understanding towards people with whom we disagree because we know that labels and divisions create impenetrable barriers, that will mean that we never reach a “meeting-of-the-minds’.

  • We will discuss issues and always aim to reach consensus

  • We will not use denigrating labels

  • We will point out logical flaws if and when they occur in other’s arguments.

  • We will take responsibility and hold others responsible as required.

We aim to raise substantial funds, from private and public sources, so that we can create “islands of abundance” / develop “show cases” to demonstrate what can be done:

  • Starting with the Glebe Wetland in Bega NSW.

  • At Glebe Wetland we propose creating an environment with a rich diversity of plant, animal, insect, fungal, bacterial and other life forms that all inter-act and inter-relate, with a focus on the grey headed flying fox as the signature species

  • We will monitor progress at the Glebe Wetlands site and modify and refine our processes, as required, with the intention of creating something that is ultimately self-sustaining, resilient enough to survive inevitable climate change and become a tourist and local attraction

  • The knowledge gained will then be used to help transform and create other areas of abundance
elsewhere, initially in the SE of NSW, and as our knowledge and experience grows this may
ultimately form the basis of a business or consultancy.
